Why carrier comparisons matter more than reviews
A carrier review describes one company’s products. A head-to-head comparison can show how two products differ for a defined applicant profile. Compare actual underwriting results, benefit tiers, premiums and policy terms. Use the same applicant, benefit amount, product type and quote date; results can change with health history, state and tobacco use.
Anchor Life works with multiple life-insurance carriers. Some companies discussed in these comparisons are reviewed for informational purposes even when they are not part of Anchor Life’s current carrier panel. Where current carrier documentation, applications, live quotes or first-hand brokerage experience are available, those sources should be identified. Otherwise, verify the current product and quote before relying on a comparison.
Compare the actual offer: Ask which insurers the broker represents, how compensation works, and whether any fees apply. Compare the policy form, benefits, and total premium on the same basis.

Anchor Life field experience: In my experience with Mutual of Omaha Living Promise cases, diabetic applicants have consistently been offered graded rather than level coverage. I have not personally seen a diabetic Living Promise applicant receive level coverage. Individual underwriting should still be verified. Contact Larry at 754-246-3047 to discuss your options.

How an independent broker comparison works
1
Gather your profile
Age, state, tobacco use, coverage goal, health history and medications establish the starting point for a useful comparison.
2
Review available carrier options
Larry reviews relevant products available through Anchor Life’s current carrier relationships and compares applicable underwriting and pricing.
3
Compare actual offers
Compare the benefit tier, premium, early-benefit terms and policy guarantees of the actual offers. Confirm current state/product availability and the individual underwriting result.
Frequently asked questions — carrier comparisons
How do I compare final expense insurance companies?
Compare the same applicant and benefit amount across products. Record the issuing insurer, product, benefit tier, monthly premium, natural-death benefit during the first policy years, accidental-death treatment, premium guarantees, state availability and underwriting result. Consider the issuing insurer’s current financial strength alongside the policy terms, and ask which alternatives were compared.
Which is better for diabetics: Mutual of Omaha or American Amicable?
Neither is automatically better for every applicant with diabetes. Compare current application requirements, the benefit tier actually offered, and the premium for your age, state, and health history. See the
Mutual of Omaha vs American Amicable comparison for further questions to discuss.
Is Lincoln Heritage better than Mutual of Omaha?
Compare quotes for the same applicant, coverage amount, and benefit structure. A company-wide price or eligibility verdict cannot replace a review of the actual policies offered.
What is the difference between an independent broker and a captive agent?
An independent broker can offer products from multiple insurers; a captive agent generally represents one insurer. Ask which companies and products the agent can offer and how they are compensated.
Does working with a broker cost more than buying directly?
Compare the total premium and any disclosed fees for the exact product and applicant. Ask how the broker is compensated; do not assume every sales channel offers identical policies or prices.
